En el pueblo solo exist\u00eda un pozo donde los vecinos iban a recoger agua para poder subsistir, hasta que en 1919 D. Antonio P\u00e9rez Mier decidi\u00f3 construir\u00a0La Fuente San Juli\u00e1n. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>D. Antonio, era un vecino del pueblo que emigr\u00f3 a Cuba para poder trabajar y enviarle dinero a su familia; a su vuelta se encontr\u00f3 con las circunstancias e inconvenientes en las que se viv\u00eda y decidi\u00f3 ayudar al que siempre hab\u00eda sido su pueblo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Investig\u00f3 por las monta\u00f1as de los alrededores y descubri\u00f3 un manantial situado en <strong><em>Emprevidi<\/em><\/strong>, en la Pe\u00f1a El Alba, y tras varios intentos, consigui\u00f3 trasladar sus aguas, costeando la tra\u00edda de ellas al pueblo. Finalmente construy\u00f3 la fuente, donando grandes cantidades para obras p\u00fablicas y contribuyendo a todo acto ben\u00e9fico y humanitario a favor de su pueblo. Por ello, D. Antonio siempre fue considerado y conocido como el protector de Poo y fue homenajeado con una placa y una calle a su nombre. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Actualmente, La Fuente San Juli\u00e1n es usada frecuentemente por los vecinos como sitio de encuentro, pues todos tienen agua corriente en sus casas y no es necesaria la recogida. Por otra parte, todav\u00eda quedan vecinos que aprecian la pureza de su agua y van a recogerla all\u00ed diariamente, adem\u00e1s de las visitas de algunos turistas que se ven atra\u00eddos por su historia. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En mi opini\u00f3n, creo que fuentes como esta deben de ser cuidadas para que su historia y reconocimiento puedan pasar de generaci\u00f3n en generaci\u00f3n, ya que refleja parte de nuestra cultura. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Identificaci\u00f3n del recurso:&nbsp;Fuente.
