Gracias a un antiguo puente romano sobre el r\u00edo Chico, pod\u00edan los ni\u00f1os y ni\u00f1as de Santo Tom\u00e1s cruzar el r\u00edo para asistir a las escuelas de Coll\u00eda. Situado detr\u00e1s de la iglesia, tambi\u00e9n llevaba por su calzada empedrada hasta el cementerio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Los romanos, utilizando cal, arena y piedras, consiguieron un hormig\u00f3n capaz de resistir hasta nuestros d\u00edas. Consegu\u00edan la cal extray\u00e9ndola de las piedras calizas, en hornos que hac\u00edan quemando le\u00f1a debajo de las piedras, y cubri\u00e9ndolas de arcilla para conservar el calor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El due\u00f1o de un hotel cercano se ha encargado de desbrozar y limpiar el camino para disfrute de sus hu\u00e9spedes, la mayor\u00eda ingleses como \u00e9l.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Es una pena que estando el puente en un entorno tan bonito, no sea visitado por estar tan escondido.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Identificaci\u00f3n del recurso:&nbsp;puente y calzada romana.
